New Year, New Plan!

Annual Plan Journal

Happy New Year! I hope you all had a wonderful holiday season filled with new memories. We had a lovely low key holiday with our college age daughter who was home for a couple of weeks.

One of the things my husband and I did, for the first time, was to take a few hours to create an annual plan for 2019. We were inspired by Kerry Ann Roquemore's post on her new blog The Best Chapter, which I highly recommend! In this post she explains her process for creating an annual plan. We adapted her process to fit our needs and were happily surprised with the results.

The image above is of the new journal which will hold our annual planning process for years to come. The process involves a number of steps to reflect on the past year before moving on to a number of steps to create your goals for the new year. You finish by choosing three affirmations and a word that captures the essence of your goals for the year.

My word for the year is FAITH. If you're a fan of Winnie the Pooh, you'll understand when I say I'm more of an Eeyore than any of the other characters. My default is to be pessimistic, although I tend to call it being a realist, and expect that if there's an opportunity for things to go wrong, they will. But I know that if I want to be successful in achieving my multiple goals for this year, then I need to have faith that I will achieve the results I seek. It's going to be a big challenge for me to constantly remind myself to have faith, but I hope that by the end of 2019 I will have shed some of my Eeyore ways.

You might have also noticed a new look here on the blog. One of the not so pleasant experiences over the holidays was that my blog was hacked! After having a melt down (remember...Eeyore), I decided to move my whole operation to another platform. So far I like the new look and hope you do too. Let me know your thoughts on the comments.

Finally, as far as goals specific to this blog for the year, the plan is to post once a week. If you want to see what's going on in my world more often than just the weekly post make sure to follow me on social media.
